In attempt to rescue my 6th grade students from yet another desk-bound activity during midterms week, I created this up and out of your seats Periodic Table game. In "The Amazing Race: Periodic Table Edition" students work in 10 element teams to race through 80 clues. It was such a hit, that I not only decided to post it in my TpT store, but also to give away up to 5 copies of this 25 plus page resource here on my blog. Keep reading to find out how to get your free copy!
Download a preview here:
So, you have checked out the preview and you want dibs on a copy of the full game? Here's how to make it happen: 1) Join as a blog follower. 2) Leave a comment that includes your email address. 3) I'll send you the file!

Happy Teaching...
Looks great! I love activities that get the kids moving around the room and it's brings out the competitiveness in ALL of them. For once, they want to do the work so that they can win. I'd love to check it out! shayna_rose@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteI'll send it your way tonight. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like an awesome activity. I'm just getting ready to teach the Periodic Table and I think this will definitely engage my students. Can't wait to check it out. rshewlakow@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI emailed you the file. I hope you have fun using this activity in your classroom!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sending me the Amazing Race: Periodic Table edition. I follow an A/B day schedule so we "raced" for two days. My kids totally LOVED this activity and it allowed me the opportunity to see which students understood how to navigate and use the Periodic Table and who was still struggling. I hung the clues around my classroom and taped them to the walls so that the clue was facing the wall. Each clue was numbers on the back. Students had to flip the card up to read the clue. This worked well for me because I had the clues hanging in my room for two days.
DeleteSince the winners of the real Amazing Race win a million dollars, I decided to "reward" the winners of each class with ten fun size 100 Grand candy bars ($1,000,000) in addition to the extra credit points.
Thanks again!
I am SO glad that this game worked out in your classroom. I love the 100 Grand Candy bar idea. I'm going to use that next year for sure!
